Join us on August 3, 2008, for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation Hope in Motion 5/10K for a run or walk around Lake Merritt, 568 Bellevue Ave in Oakland. This benefit run starts at 8 a.m. and the beautiful course consists of one (5K) or two (10K) paved trail loops around the lake. KFRC (106.9 FM) will be onsite providing great oldies music to power your best run yet.

All participants are welcome to attend three free pre-race running clinics provided by our partner, Road Runner Sports in Concord, the "World's Largest Running Store." These clinics will provide information for both beginners and experienced runners and walkers on preparing for the race, improving running technique and nutrition.

Runners will compete for great prizes and all finishers will receive awards. Trophies will be awarded to best overall male and female competitors in both the 5K and 10K events. Medals will be given to each of the top three finishers in each age group by 10-year increments. The top finishers in each category will also receive gift certificates from Road Runner Sports.

Race fees: $30 prior to July 20th, $35 thereafter. Fees include post-race refreshments, commemorative race t-shirt, incredible sport bag and goodies, and an award ceremony.
