Alta Bates Summit Medical Center's Markstein Cancer Services and Lazarex Cancer Foundation are conducting a series of community cancer screening events at their Summit Campus. Sponsoring these screenings is part of our mission to revitalize cancer patients and their families with promising treatments, compassionate care, and comprehensive wellness products and services.

Upcoming events:

January 29, 2009 - Prostate Cancer Screening

In order to participate in this free community prostate cancer screening, individuals must make an appointment for the morning of January 29 and meet several criteria, including:

• Not currently under care for any prostate condition
• Being unable to access routine medical screening exams
• Never before diagnosed with prostate cancer
• Have not had a prostate exam in the past 12 months AND
• Are male and aged 40 to 70 years old OR
• Are male and aged 35 or over AND in the high-risk group including all African-American and Hispanic men and men with a history of prostate cancer in their family
